Good Afternoon First Grade Families!
I added a few new photos to our website.
The kids have been in the garden this week.
So sweet!
Reminders:
Spring Break April 2 - 11. School resumes on Monday April 12. *If possible, please let me know if you have extended travel plans that either precede or extend the dates listed above.
The winner of the Dr. Seuss Book Bracket was Fox in Sox! read by Mrs. Allen. Runner-up was Green Eggs and Ham, read by Ms. Kemmer. Reading through the bracket was a fun way to listen to, and read books. We made the best of March is Reading Month!
In regards to 'curriculum news', we will not be starting 'anything new' this week or the week following spring break. These are great times for me to review and practice previously learned skills with the kids in Math and Reading. There will be NO new words to read and spell for these weeks either. However, we will be working on the words and spelling patterns from previous weeks, that were difficult for most students.
This is our last week with Mr. Warren in our classroom . After spring break, he will begin his final student-teacher placement in a Zeeland Public, pre-kindergarten classroom prior to graduating from Hope College later this spring. We wish him well, but will also miss him very much! I have a card for the kids to sign and we will be giving him a selection of 'our favorite books' as a goodbye gift :)
If you have any questions or comments please get in touch with me.
