We have a fun, but very busy week ahead. I will try to keep you updated on the events of each day.
The upcoming Film Festival trip is one of things we are looking forward to! On-time arrival is essential. Please let me know if you have any questions about this.

Monday: Stormy Day Reading (bring a flashlight)
Tuesday: Beach Towel Day
Wednesday: Stuffed Animal Day
Thursday: Author Visit
Friday: Wear a Shirt with Words to Read on it!

March 21: Mystery Reader; Mantels 11:15AM
March 22: Mystery Reader; Lewis 2:10PM
*March 23: SCA Film Festival Field Trip 8:15-9:15. Bus leaves at 8:00AM! Please have your child at school by 7:55. If your child needs breakfast I suggest 7:45 at the latest.

Language Arts Unit 4 Treasures Week 6
Story: Henry and Mudge; Mrs. Hoppers House
Genre: Realistic Fiction
Comprehension Strategy: Cause and Effect; What happens in a story and why!
Phonics: vowel sounds of -oo (ex. moon and look), and suffixes -ly and -ful,
*Words to Read and Spell:
careful, slowly, nicely, painful, wonderful, quickly, because, only, shoe, write, these, been
Writing: personal narratives, handwriting and using complete sentences
Grammar: nouns, verbs, adjectives and articles!
Math: continuing to add within 100 and subtract within 40. Fact Fluency within 10. Working with situation math problems (aka story problems).
Social Studies: How Do We Learn About Places?
- completing this unit with assessment of using and understanding maps
Science: coming soon ... Life Science; Animals and Plants
