Dear First Grade Families,
Well, we had another great week! The walkathon fundraiser provided us with so many fun extras this week! It made the learning so much fun!
We have earned an extra recess, pajama day, popsicles and crazy hair day coming up! I will keep you posted on when we will be using our rewards from the walkathon.
Reminder: NO school for students on Wednesday, October 13. Teacher work day :)

Comprehension Strategy: Cause and Effect
*words to Read and Spell: run, us, jump, must, cut, just, home, into, many, them, but, do
Phonics: short -u and words with final blends ( Ex. jump; mp, pond; nd)
Writing
-Grammar: Capital Letters
-Handwriting Practice
-Using complete sentences when writing answers to questions
Math
- the meaning of the equal sign
- addition fact fluency (15 problems in 1 minute) within 10
- word problems with addition and subtraction situations
Social Studies Who gets to make the rules?
- people with power and authority
Science What patterns do we see in the night sky?
- we are drawing what the moon looks each night in our journals for 30 days
