Reminders:
- Friday, February 18: Body Safety presentation. An informational letter was sent home on Thursday.
- Parent Teacher Conferences are on Tuesday and Thursday, March 1 and 3
- Conference sign-ups are available now. The sign-up link was sent to you via email, from Mrs. Gust. However, I will also have a few time slots available during the school day, the week of conferences, if you are able to Zoom. If you have any questions please get in touch with me.
- 1/2 day for students on Friday, March 4

Language Arts Unit 4: Treasures Week 1
Story: Mama's Birthday Present ~
Genre: Realistic Fiction
Comprehension Strategy: Draw Conclusions; learning how writers leave clues for the reader to help with understanding and sometimes predicting the story outcome.
Phonics: vowel sounds of -a, -ai and -ay
Words to Read and Spell:
afraid, gray, mail, rain, say, train, about, would, said, why, yellow, ate
Writing: Handwriting, Complete Sentences and revisiting Personal Narratives
Grammar: Adjectives
Math: Talking about 2-digit numbers as groups of tens and some ones, Addition and Subtraction Fact Fluency and Working with addition and subtraction Situation Problems (story problems).
Social Studies: Learning about Places
- learning your home address
- locating places on a map
- map features
Science:
- seasonal observation
- daylight throughout the year
- asking questions and making observations
