What a wonderful day to start the month of May! Time is flying by...
Things to look forward to:
May 2-6: Screen Free Week (Information went home on Friday)
May 11: Another 'board game' day. Three volunteers still needed
May 19: High School Band visit and mini concert
May 25: Field Trip to John Ball Zoo
June 2: (Tentatively planned) Field Day!
June 10: Last Day of School

Language Arts Unit 5 Week 3
Story: Dot and Jabber and the Great Acorn Mystery
Genre: Informational Fiction
Comprehension Strategy: Compare and Contrast events and characters in a story.
Phonics: words with -oo, and inflected endings -ed and -ing
*Words to Read and Spell:
book, foot, moon, pool, took, zoo, pull, upon, sleep, far, full, fall
Writing: Continuing Nonfiction/Informational writing
Math: Continued practice with place value addition and subtraction and fact fluency within 10. Moving into 2D and 3D Shapes and their Attributes.
Social Studies: Needs and Wants cont.
Life Science: Animals
