It seems the days are flying by! We are already looking at our first holiday break. However, I am looking forward to conferences this week. I can't wait to talk with you about the kids and our classroom happenings. Feel free to make a note of any questions or comments that you would like to share.

Language Arts Unit 2 Week 5
Story: Life in the Forest ~
Genre: Non-Fiction
Comprehension Strategy: Author's Purpose
*Word to Read and Spell:
June, huge, rule, cute, tube, rude, around, find, black, grow, under, water
Phonics: long-u and word ending -ed
Grammar: Using strong Nouns and Verbs
Writing: Personal Narrative and Handwriting Strategies
Math: Recognizing Subtraction as a way to solve missing addend number sentences.
(Ex. 6+?=10 could be solved 10-6=4). We are also working on Fact fluency and reading story problems.
Social Studies: All Families have a Past.
-How have things changed from then to now?
-What things are we still using? How have they changed?
Science: How Does Daylight Change Throughout the Year?
